5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!February 24, 2014

Came quick, complete, and easy to put together. We had a spot in our bedroom for an additional set of drawers, this fit the bill. I did contact the seller on what I had thought was a missing part, which I had misplaced, and found. They got back to me right away, and of course I had a red faced reply.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't expect high qualityAugust 20, 2013

Just because this item is expensive, don't expect it to be high quality. I started off with 2 of these units stacked and then added another when I needed more drawer space. These are your typical cheap laminate, plastic slides, cardboard bottom drawers. I have had mine for a while so I don't remember how hard the directions were. Though I built all 3 myself, so it couldn't have been too hard. Despite the cheap materials, they do hold up. I do use this for my regular clothing - shirts, jeans and all. So far a couple years later, everything still functions and nothing has broken.

However, do NOT buy this here! It is very overpriced. I paid just over half the price for mine at Target. You can find this at least 2/3 of the price at a local Target/Walmart/Meijer type store.

2.0 out of 5 stars shallow drawers, not top quality and instructions can be improvedJuly 28, 2013

so I've been putting together a few furniture pieces lately (ie from Ikea etc), and in comparison, closetmaid needs to improve on two things:

1. instructions need to be a bit more clearer (spent a lot of time trying to decipher, read and re-read over and over and still got it wrong)

2. the backings to all closetmaid products are crappy...it's just a piece of cardboard and a bunch of nails for you to nail together. If you made a mistake somewhere along the way, there's no way to get those tiny nails out.

wall attachment instructions are so poor, I couldn't even proceed

For these particular drawers, I'm especially not happy with the way we have to put in two plastic screws for each drawer as "stoppers". Once these are in, there's no way you can get them out. Say if I needed to move later on, I can't take the drawers out individually to make it a lighter item for lifting, cuz the drawers are now "stuck" together as an whole unit; they won't come out because those plastic screws are holding them in place! Someone needs to rethink this design....

5.0 out of 5 stars Suits my needsJuly 15, 2013

I was a bit hesitant to purchase the 2 drawer organizer (I bought 2) because of the horrible reviews about putting it together. I've had other Closet Maid items and one of the big confusions with many of their items is that they use locking screws. If they are not secured properly...that last little click...then the item will fall apart. But, I like Closet Maid so I bought them anyway.

I started to put them together by myself. Using my foot or TV stand to brace the piece I needed to stand up...but I was at a stop on the very first instruction. #1 shows a picture that isn't correct in any way. Not only that there are no drawer glides to attach. THEY ARE ALREADY ATTACHED! After about 30 minutes of finally figuring that out I was able to move forward. The instructions are in a very small font and were hard to read. But the pictures do show the painted side and underside clearly. The bottoms of the drawers are a heavy cardboard. These drawers are not meant to hold heavy items. I keep jewelry trays in mine and they are perfect for that.

Once I put the first one together the second one went much faster.

Would I buy again? Yes. Do I think the price is reasonable? Yes.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2-Drawer Stackable OrganizerMay 28, 2013

I bought these drawers to help organize my out-of-control pantry. Along with the 6-cube cubbyhole organizer, it's doing the job. The drawers are stacked on top of the cubbys. I like how they have the dowel holes and rods to hold the two pieces together. As for this drawer organizer, I found it very easy to put together. The only thing I did wrong (which wasn't very clear in the instructions) was install the very bottom solid shelf upside down. That means if someone is looking VERY closely, they can see the raw side is facing up under the bottom drawer. But since it's hidden in my pantry I didn't feel the need to disassemble the whole thing just to correct that. These drawers would not be suitable for storing heavy items, like tools or canned goods, but are perfect for lighter items. I have cleaning rags and dog towels in one and light cleaning supplies (swiffers, sponges, etc) in the other. The assembly will go much faster if you have a small cordless drill (I used a Skil mini cordless drill) for all the screws. For my purposes, it's nearly perfect!
